  • Skills training for over 1.5 million youth
  • Welfare board for domestic workers

New Delhi, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled Part II of its Sankalp Patra on Tuesday, introducing a fresh set of electoral commitments if the party secures victory in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Major electoral incentives include complimentary education for students from KG to PG, a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and one-time financial support for those preparing for UPSC and other competitive exams.

During a press briefing, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur elaborated on the central government’s initiatives for street vendors and criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for purportedly employing 'sleeper cells' to exploit and intimidate them.

In revealing the second installment of the Sankalp Patra, rich in benefits for students, the BJP MP also condemned the AAP administration for its numerous failures. He accused AAP of misleading the residents of Delhi to gain power, only to abandon them afterward.

The first promise for students stated that the BJP government would ensure free education for all children, extending from KG (Kindergarten) to PG (Post-graduate).

Additionally, he disclosed plans for a skills training initiative aimed at over 1.5 million youth.

Criticizing the city government regarding the tragic drowning incident involving UPSC aspirants at a coaching center last year, the BJP MP guaranteed one-time support of Rs 15,000 for students preparing for competitive exams.

He asserted that all BJP’s electoral pledges are supported by 'Modi ki guarantee' and will be executed within a specified timeframe, contrasting this with the AAP government, which he claimed has neglected and deceived the city's residents for the past 11 years.

Anurag Thakur highlighted the Centre’s scholarship program for underprivileged students, announcing that, if elected, the BJP would establish a stipend program for SC students, modeled after Gujarat’s approach.

“Through the Centre’s initiative, over 34.5 lakh SC students have benefited from Rs 3,046 crore in scholarships. The BJP government will introduce a stipend policy for Delhi students engaged in technical education such as ITI and polytechnic courses, providing Rs 1,000 per month for SC community students,” Thakur affirmed.

He also pledged to double the beneficiaries of the PM SWANidhi Yojana.

“A welfare board will be established for domestic workers, offering life insurance of Rs 10 lakh, accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh, scholarships for their children, and six months of paid maternity leave,” the BJP manifesto detailed.

Previously, the first part of the BJP’s manifesto focused on women, unveiling multiple financial assistance schemes, including Rs 21,000 for pregnant women.

Delhi will hold elections on February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
