Chennai, Nov 30 (NationPress) As the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections draw near, the BJP has ramped up its preparations throughout the state, striving for a robust outcome for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

BJP State Secretary and former Yuva Morcha president Vinoj P. Selvam stated that the party's organizational structure is now fully engaged, systematically aiming for an NDA triumph.

He added that BJP State President Nainar Nagenthran has appointed in-charges, conveners, and co-conveners for each Assembly constituency. This initiative follows a significant restructuring within the organization, which includes new district presidents, office-bearers, and updated appointments for all morchas and cells.

“The party has undergone a complete rejuvenation and is operating with renewed vigor,” he remarked.

Regarding the potential for new political entities to align with the NDA before the elections, he pointed out that the political environment in Tamil Nadu remains unpredictable.

“With four to five months remaining before the elections, the political landscape can shift dramatically. As parties aiming to challenge the DMK start strategizing and forming alliances, new coalitions may certainly arise,” he noted.

When questioned about seat-sharing arrangements and the BJP's electoral ambitions, he mentioned that the specific number of seats contested will be finalized after talks between the BJP's election working committee and its AIADMK counterpart. “While I can't predict the exact figure, our objective is to secure every seat we contest,” he affirmed.

Concerning the key messages the BJP and NDA will present to voters, he stated that highlighting the “failures and inadequacies” of the DMK government would be central to their campaign.

“This election must signify the end of DMK rule. A dynastic and corrupt party flourishing is a threat to democracy,” he emphasized.

In response to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s assertion at the Rising TN seminar in Coimbatore that his administration has attracted investments 2.5 times greater than during the AIADMK era, the BJP leader dismissed such claims as unsubstantiated.

“There’s a saying - the pumpkin in the book won’t help in the curry. Many announcements from the DMK are just like that. There is no tangible benefit for the populace,” he commented.

Selvam also held the DMK accountable for the declining law and order situation. “Examine the official statistics regarding murder, robbery, and sexual assault cases since the DMK assumed power. The numbers tell a compelling story. The DMK regime has come to symbolize anarchic rule,” he remarked.

Regarding the increase in alleged encounter deaths in Chennai and surrounding areas, he expressed that the killing of suspects during investigations is “entirely unacceptable.”

“Criminals must face justice through due process, but they still deserve the benefit of the doubt,” he added.

When asked about his candidacy for the 2026 Assembly elections, the BJP leader stated that the decision lies entirely with the party leadership. “I have no personal preferences. My focus is on the Thyagaraya Assembly constituency, working diligently to ensure an NDA victory there. I will devote myself wherever the party assigns me,” he concluded.
