New Delhi, Jan 19 (NationPress) Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra accused the BJP of trying to manipulate votes in the state, disguising their actions as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

During a press conference at the Congress headquarters, Dotasra asserted that a “well-orchestrated conspiracy” took shape following Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Jaipur.

Dotasra stated that the SIR process was progressing without issues until January 3, but this changed after BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santhosh convened a meeting in Jaipur that day.

He claimed that between January 3 and January 13, a “fraudulent agenda” was developed, which included the fabrication of fake, computer-generated forms for every assembly constituency.

According to him, Amit Shah's stay at the Chief Minister’s residence on January 13 coincided with BJP MLAs and candidates allegedly receiving pen drives with bogus data.

“From the evening of January 13 to January 15, a plot was devised to eliminate between 10,000 and 20,000 voter names per constituency, particularly in regions where Congress had triumphed. Forms were specifically designed to erase the names of voters from a particular community,” Dotasra alleged.

The PCC chief further claimed that fraudulent signatures of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were utilized to submit these forms. “In my constituency, over 2,000 counterfeit forms were submitted, but the SDM rejected them. The BLOs confirmed that their signatures were forged,” he stated.

Dotasra accused BJP leaders of coercing officials to accept bulk applications, despite explicit directives from Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan against such actions.

He reported that by January 15, around 1.40 lakh forms had already been processed. For instance, 13,882 forms were accepted in Jhunjhunu, 16,276 in Mandawa, and 1,478 in Khetri, allegedly breaching Election Commission regulations.

Moreover, he alleged that BJP leaders were requesting OTPs from BLOs to add fake names and remove voters aligned with Congress. “I can provide evidence of BLOs being pressured for their OTPs,” he asserted.

Labeling this as an assault on democracy, Dotasra urged government officials to resist political pressure and called on Congress workers to closely monitor the process at SDM offices. He declared that Congress would initiate legal proceedings wherever fraud was identified, vowing to thwart the BJP’s “vote theft conspiracy” in Rajasthan.
