New Delhi, Jan 18 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed his support on Saturday for the Narendra Modi government’s initiative to establish the 8th Pay Commission - a move that could assist the party in appealing to government employee voters ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5.

During a press conference with New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, Sachdeva stated that government employees play a crucial role in implementing the benefits of PM Modi’s policies and programs to the public.

Bansuri Swaraj pointed out that the announcement of the 8th Pay Commission has brought significant happiness among government workers.

She noted that numerous representatives of government employees from New Delhi have expressed their appreciation via phone since Friday.

“From Kali Bari to Kidwai Nagar, government employees are content and pleased that the Modi government has given timely attention to their issues,” stated Bansuri Swaraj.

She emphasized that the prompt establishment of the Pay Commission instills a sense of security among government employees regarding their future, while private sector workers are also optimistic about favorable changes.

Swaraj highlighted that this Pay Commission would not only assist employees but also pensioners.

The New Delhi MP noted that while government employees would see direct benefits from the Pay Commission's recommendations, private sector workers could benefit indirectly through potential adjustments in minimum wages and other policies.

The announcement regarding the commission's formation coincided with the release of the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ by National President J.P. Nadda on Friday.

The party manifesto pledged Rs 2,500 monthly financial aid for women, matching the amount promised by the Delhi Congress to impoverished women and exceeding the Rs 400 offered by the ruling AAP.

The BJP refers to this monthly aid for women as 'Mahila Smriddhi Yojana', while the Congress calls it 'Pyari Didi Yojana' and the AAP labels it 'Mahila Samman Yojana'.

As the voting day on February 5 approaches, BJP leaders are striving to persuade voters that their party will fulfill the promises made to women. To support their claims, they are highlighting the monthly financial assistance being provided in BJP-led states such as Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra.
