New Delhi, April 27 (NationPress) BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari fiercely criticized the Congress for engaging in appeasement politics and labeling the assailants of the Pahalgam attack as gunmen rather than terrorists.
In a conversation with IANS, Bhandari emphasized the Congress's questionable stance.
Addressing the remarks made by Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar regarding the lasting effects of partition, Bhandari accused the Congress of playing a double game. He pointed out their reluctance to hold the Pakistan government accountable for the terrorist attack, attributing this to their appeasement politics.
He elaborated, stating: "During an all-party meeting, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi proclaimed their support for the government in the battle against terror. Yet, the divergent statements from Congress reflect a lack of unity."
Intensifying his criticism, Bhandari asserted that Congress members have accused the victims of terrorist attacks of being dishonest and have referred to terrorists as gunmen.
He further asserted that the true intentions of the Congress are now evident, recalling how during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the party blamed the Hindu majority instead of Pakistan for the heinous act.
Bhandari warned, "Do not stoop so low that you (Congress) cannot even utter a word against the terrorists who have attacked the heart of our nation."
He urged Congress to cease playing politics and instead, "Unite and act in the national interest."
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stated that India is prepared to respond decisively to the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.
In a strong stance against terrorism and its supporters, India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan and revoked visas for Pakistani nationals residing in India.
The Union Home Ministry has issued an advisory to all states, instructing them to identify and repatriate all Pakistani nationals.
This terrorist attack has garnered widespread international condemnation, with global leaders expressing solidarity with India in its fight against terrorism.
