Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin is set to chair a meeting with the party's state unit presidents at BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Monday, 1 June, where he is expected to relay the key directives that Prime Minister Narendra Modi communicated to the party's core group a day earlier. The gathering comes just weeks before 24 Rajya Sabha seats across 10 states go to a vote on 18 June, as announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

What Is on the Agenda

Nabin's interaction with state chiefs is being viewed as a strategic calibration exercise ahead of multiple electoral contests. Senior party functionaries said the session will cover fine-tuning of poll strategy for the Rajya Sabha elections on 18 June, as well as impending elections to state Legislative Councils. The meeting will also assess state-level organisational activities and chart a roadmap for the party's expansion.

B.L. Santhosh, BJP's National General Secretary (Organisation), along with other National General Secretaries, will participate in the brainstorming session, a party leader said.

Booth-Level Strengthening in Focus

Beyond the immediate electoral calendar, the meeting is expected to keep booth-level consolidation firmly on the agenda. Nabin is reportedly focused on the next round of state assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur, all slated for early 2027. Strengthening the party's grassroots infrastructure at the booth level is seen as critical groundwork for those contests.

Mega Training Campaign Nears Completion

The meeting coincides with state units nearing the completion of training sessions for Mandal-level workers under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Maha Prashikshan Abhiyan. The party's Mega Training Campaign aims to cover all Mandals across states and reinforce the ideology of cultural nationalism and integral humanism among BJP workers — a long-term organisational initiative that Nabin has prioritised since assuming the presidency.

Nabin's Ground-Level Outreach

On Saturday, Nabin visited Dehradun, where he interacted with party workers and personally visited the home of a booth president. In a post on social media platform X, Nabin wrote: 'Today, upon reaching the residence of booth president Kishor Kumar Ji at booth number-141 located at Tapkeshwar in Gari Cantt of Dehradun, refreshments were partaken.' The visit underscores the BJP president's emphasis on direct engagement with ground-level functionaries.

Significance of Sunday's Core Group Meeting

Prime Minister Modi's discussion with the BJP core group on Sunday is understood to have assumed added significance given the proximity of the Rajya Sabha elections and the Legislative Council polls. Monday's meeting with state presidents is, in effect, the cascade of those deliberations down the party hierarchy — translating top-level strategic thinking into actionable state-level directives. Notably, the BJP also plans to use this period to celebrate 12 years of the Modi-led Union government, and state units are expected to receive specific guidelines on activities marking the occasion.
