Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Monday, 27 July addressed a large public gathering in Bankipur Assembly constituency, Patna, calling on voters to back NDA candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha in the 30 July by-election. Nabin framed the contest as a referendum on development and grassroots leadership, contrasting the NDA's record with what he described as the opposition's reliance on dynastic politics and money power.

Grassroots Candidate at the Centre of NDA's Pitch

Nabin highlighted Neeraj Kumar Sinha's political journey — from booth president to Mandal president — as proof of the BJP's commitment to rewarding ordinary workers over established political families. 'The BJP is a party that gives opportunities to ordinary party workers. Those who believe election tickets are reserved only for influential families cannot understand the strength and commitment of grassroots workers,' Nabin said.

He argued that the candidature of a rank-and-file worker signals the party's internal democratic culture, a contrast he drew sharply against parties he accused of prioritising dynastic succession.

Development Record Cited Across Bankipur

Nabin cited a range of infrastructure projects as evidence of the NDA government's delivery in the constituency. He listed the Double-Decker Bridge at Kargil Chowk, Marine Drive, improved roads, drinking water facilities, electricity supply, and community buildings as transformative investments that have given Patna a renewed identity.

He also pointed to development in localities including Mithapur, Chandpur Bela, Sipara, Dashratha, Bigrahpur, Chiraiyatand, Boring Road, and Kidwaipuri. Redevelopment of Mandiri Nala and road construction over major drains — including Bakarganj, Serpentine, Saidpur, Anandpuri, and Kurji — were presented as markers of the government's urban development agenda.

Law, Order, and Women's Empowerment

On law and order, Nabin contrasted present conditions with what he described as a period when women felt unsafe venturing out after dark — a reference to the pre-2005 era in Bihar that NDA leaders routinely term 'jungle raj'. He credited improved governance with creating a safer environment and warned voters against allowing a return to those conditions.

He also highlighted the Jeevika women's self-help programme as evidence of the NDA's commitment to women's economic empowerment, criticising those he said had made objectionable remarks about women and asserting that such attitudes would be rejected at the ballot box.

NDA Alliance and Leadership Acknowledged

The rally was attended by Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) State President Raju Tiwari, Hindustani Awam Morcha national president Santosh Suman, Rashtriya Lok Morcha state president Alok Singh, and Lok Sabha MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, among other NDA leaders.

Nabin credited former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for initiating Bihar's development trajectory and said the momentum continues under Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. He noted that NDA allies — Jitan Ram Manjhi, Upendra Kushwaha, and Chirag Paswan — are working in concert under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for the state's progress.

Final Appeal to Voters

Closing his address, Nabin urged residents to vote for the NDA by pressing Button No. 2 next to the Lotus symbol on polling day. 'Your vote will accelerate the pace of development in Bankipur. Neeraj Kumar Sinha will carry forward the ongoing development works and continue serving the people of the constituency like a brother and a son,' he said. Polling in the Bankipur by-election is scheduled for 30 July.
