Patna, June 2 (NationPress) As the pressure mounts from coalition partners regarding seat distribution for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has emphasized that the final seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA will be determined by the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

During a press briefing in Munger on Monday, Choudhary noted that while many leaders express intentions to contest a significant number of seats, the ultimate decision will emerge only after discussions with alliance partners.

“The central BJP leadership will ascertain how many seats each NDA member party will contest. We effectively managed seat-sharing during the Lok Sabha elections, and we will replicate that success for the assembly polls,” he stated.

Choudhary’s comments followed remarks by Arun Bharti, MP from Jamui and brother-in-law of LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, indicating that Paswan might contest from a general (unreserved) seat, asserting that his leadership would enhance the alliance's prospects.

Numerous leaders from LJPRV are asserting that they aim to contest at least 40 seats in the assembly elections.

In a pointed critique, Samrat Choudhary also directed his fire towards RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing him of emerging only during election seasons.

"Lalu Yadav is only visible during elections, yet history illustrates he loses every time. The people of Bihar have consistently rejected him," Choudhary remarked.

Reaffirming his confidence in the NDA’s alliance and electoral strategy, Choudhary added: "We have complete trust in the people of Bihar. They will stand with the NDA under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar."

As alliances develop and claims surface from various factions, it is anticipated that seat-sharing discussions will intensify in the approaching months.

The central BJP leadership is set to play a pivotal role in balancing coalition demands while ensuring internal harmony within the NDA as the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections draw near.

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly election, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ran independently and secured only one seat, while in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the Chirag Paswan faction (LJPRV) contested five seats and won them all.

Point of View

As the political landscape in Bihar evolves, the central leadership's role in seat allocation is imperative. The BJP must navigate coalition dynamics adeptly to maintain unity and maximize electoral success. With the election approaching, the focus on strategic partnerships will be crucial for the NDA.
