The Indian women’s blind cricket team made history on November 23, 2025, by defeating Nepal in the T20 World Cup final held in Colombo, thus securing the inaugural title.
This national squad featured three skilled players from Madhya Pradesh: Sunita Sarathe from Narmadapuram, Sushma Patel from Damoh, and Durga Yewale from Betul.
Two weeks prior, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had welcomed the three players at his residence, announcing a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh for each.
CM Yadav detailed the reward as Rs 10 lakh in cash and Rs 15 lakh in a fixed deposit. Additionally, he declared a reward of Rs 1 lakh each for the coaches—Sonu Golkar, Om Prakash Pal, and Deepak Pahade—recognizing their exceptional guidance.
