Bengaluru, June 9 (NationPress) The Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban district, who also holds the position of District Magistrate, has sent notices to 45 individuals injured in the stampede that tragically resulted in 11 fatalities at Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4. These individuals are scheduled to provide their statements on June 11.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called for a magisterial inquiry into this calamity, instructing Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha G. to deliver a report within 15 days.
Jagadeesha has notified the injured parties to report to the magisterial court auditorium within the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Bengaluru, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., to document their statements.
According to sources, after gathering these statements, the Deputy Commissioner will also record testimonies from the families of the deceased and eyewitnesses on June 13. A formal request has been made to the Bengaluru Police Commissioner for details concerning the police personnel assigned to the Chinnaswamy Stadium on the day of the incident.
Once all statements are compiled from the police and officers, the findings will be submitted to the government. The Deputy Commissioner has conducted a site visit at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Statements from the management of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, DNA Event Management, and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) will also be included.
In a related development, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is expected to seek custody of Nikhil Sosale, the Marketing Head of RCB. His petition against his arrest is set to be reviewed by the court today.
