Jaipur, May 8 (NationPress) The Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium in Jaipur was targeted with a bomb threat via email on Thursday. This alarming message was addressed to the Rajasthan State Sports Council, leading to a swift and extensive security operation.
The threat arises during a period of heightened tensions with Pakistan along the border.
Neeraj K. Pawan, the President of the Sports Council, confirmed that the email containing the threat was received at 9:13 a.m.
"The message suggested that the stadium was to be bombed in retaliation for the success of 'Operation Sindoor'," he stated.
Upon reading the alarming contents, the staff promptly alerted the police control room. In response, police officers, the Quick Reaction Team (QRT), and the bomb disposal unit were dispatched to the stadium.
All attendees were evacuated as a comprehensive search operation commenced. To date, no suspicious items have been uncovered in or around the stadium.
High-ranking officials, including Additional Police Commissioner Kunwar Rashtradeep and DCP South Digant Anand, arrived on-site to manage the situation.
