New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) The Budget Session of Parliament will recommence on Monday following a short recess for Holi. Significant reports and Bills are set to be introduced in both Houses — Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

As per the agenda for the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Virendra Singh will present the reports from the Standing Committee on Defence concerning grants for the Ministry of Defence for the fiscal year 2025-26.

The Standing Committee on External Affairs will unveil the Fifth Report on External Affairs (18th Lok Sabha), focusing on "Demands for Grants of the Ministry of External Affairs for the year 2025-26." This report will be introduced by Shashi Tharoor and Arun Govil.

The Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment will present its findings on the Demands for Grants (2025-26) related to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

A motion for electing two members to the court of the University of Delhi will be proposed. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will state: "That in accordance with Statute 2(1)(xix) and (3) of the Statutes of the University of Delhi, this House shall proceed to elect, as directed by the Speaker, two members from among themselves to serve on the Court of the University of Delhi, subject to the provisions of the Statutes."

Discussion and voting on the Demands for Grants overseen by the Ministry of Railways for 2025-26 will also take place in the Lower House.

In the Rajya Sabha, the discussion on the operations of the Ministry of Railways, initiated by Samik Bhattacharya on March 12, will continue.

A general discussion regarding the Budget for Manipur (2025–26) is scheduled. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Appropriation Bill, which aims to authorize the appropriation of funds from the Consolidated Fund of India for services rendered during the financial year ending March 31, 2022, exceeding the amounts previously granted by the Lok Sabha, and will also propose that the Bill be returned.

Additionally, the Finance Minister will introduce a Bill to authorize the payment and appropriation of further sums from the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2024-25, as passed by the Lok Sabha, and will propose that the Bill be returned.

She will also move that the Bill to "authorize the withdrawal of specific sums from the Consolidated Fund of the State of Manipur for the services of part of the financial year 2025-26, as approved by the Lok Sabha, be taken into consideration and returned."

Similar to the Lok Sabha, reports from the standing committees on Defence, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will be presented.

Minister Ravneet Singh will propose a motion: "That in accordance with clause (i) of sub-section (2) of Section 28, alongside subsection (1) of Section 29 of the National Institutes of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management Act, 2021 (19 of 2021), this House shall elect, as directed by the Chairman, one Member from amongst its Members to serve on the Council of the National Institutes of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, established under the said Act."
