New Delhi, July 8 (NationPress) Following the arrest of Jalaluddin, known as Chhangur Baba, the alleged mastermind behind a significant religious conversion racket in Uttar Pradesh, his lavish residence in Balrampur has been taken down.
This demolition occurred after Jalaluddin's apprehension, with him being accused of orchestrating a gang that converts Hindu girls to Islam. This decisive action by local authorities is part of a broader effort to dismantle networks that are perceived as threatening social harmony.
Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned Jalaluddin's actions as both anti-social and anti-national. He took to social media to affirm that his government would impose strict and exemplary measures against those involved in such activities, including property confiscation and criminal charges.
“There will be no leniency. Those who plot against the nation under the guise of religion will face the full might of the law,” Adityanath declared.
UP Minister Sanjay Nishad endorsed the government's stance, asserting, “Illegal activities cannot be ignored in a democracy. While previous governments may have shielded such individuals, this administration will not tolerate it. I applaud the government for its courageous actions. Religion should guide us in life, not be manipulated. Individuals like Chhangur Baba tarnish faith, and appeasement politics must cease.”
UP Cabinet Minister Anil Rajbhar made even more alarming allegations, revealing, “Over Rs 100 crore has been discovered in his accounts. A network spanning 40 countries seems to exist. He reportedly spent large sums on each conversion. So far, 18 individuals have been identified in this orchestrated operation, and even a former Maharashtra minister’s name has surfaced. These people live in India, consume its resources, and yet conspire against it. This signifies a considerable plot against Sanatan Dharma.”
The racket, allegedly operated by Jalaluddin and his wife Neetu, also known as Nasreen, has sent shockwaves through the state. FIRs filed in numerous districts indicate that over 40 girls from Hindu and other non-Muslim communities were enticed into conversion through deceitful promises and financial incentives.
The UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) apprehended both individuals in Madhpur, Balrampur. A court had previously issued a non-bailable warrant against Jalaluddin, and a cash reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for his capture.
