Lucknow, July 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has demanded strict and significant measures against Jalaluddin, also known as Chhangur Baba, who is accused of orchestrating a religious conversion racket. He emphasized that this reprehensible act is not only anti-social but also anti-national.
In a statement made on social media, CM Yogi asserted that his administration will ensure there is no leniency concerning law enforcement. Properties owned by the accused, along with those involved in the conversion network, will be seized, and stringent legal action will follow.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his administration's dedication to the honor and safety of women, stating that there is no tolerance for those who threaten peace, harmony, and the protection of sisters and daughters.
“Those responsible will face punishment in accordance with the law, serving as a deterrent for society,” the CM declared.
The exposure of this conversion racket, allegedly run by Chhangur Baba and his associates, including his spouse, has left the community in disbelief, triggering widespread anger and concern over attempts to convert Hindu girls to Islam.
The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police apprehended Jamaluddin and his accomplice, Neetu alias Nasreen, both from Madhpur in Balrampur district. A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued for Jamaluddin, and the police announced a reward of ₹50,000 for information leading to his capture.
Jamaluddin, also referred to as Chhangur Baba, is alleged to have targeted girls from various communities and even kept a 'rate list' for conversions. These startling claims have ignited considerable outrage.
According to multiple FIRs filed across several districts, he and his wife reportedly enticed over 40 girls from Hinduism and other non-Muslim faiths to convert to Islam, offering financial incentives and other rewards for abandoning their original faith.
