Lucknow, Sep 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, made a strong commitment on Sunday to eradicate 'Love Jehad', issuing a stern warning to criminals and anti-social individuals that they will face consequences similar to those inflicted on trouble-makers in Bareilly.
During a ceremony marking the foundation stone laying and inauguration of 124 development projects in Balrampur, CM Adityanath emphasized, "We must stay vigilant against anti-national actions such as 'Love Jehad', illegal conversions, and cow smuggling."
He urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the police or local authorities, stating, "We will take direct action to deal with them."
In a cautionary note to anti-social elements, he warned against targeting women, business owners, or religious gatherings, asserting, "Be aware, any misadventure will lead to your punishment akin to the caning of law-breakers in Bareilly."
This message came shortly after the detention of over forty individuals and the arrest of Bareilly cleric, Tauqeer Raza Khan, whose call for a protest in support of the 'I love Muhammad' campaign led to violent clashes on Friday.
CM Adityanath also criticized those who misled minors away from their studies in math and science into participating in protests with 'I love Muhammad' signs.
He remarked on the Bareilly incident, stating, "Those behind the protest are not only doomed but are also jeopardizing the future of minors."
A video of CM Adityanath's address in Balrampur was shared on his social media channels and by Amit Malviya, the BJP IT cell chief, on Sunday.
The Chief Minister further referenced the troubled Chhangur Baba and warned anti-social individuals that they too could end up like the Maulana from Balrampur, who is in police custody for suspected illegal conversions and money laundering.
"Any attempt to disrupt the law or engage in anti-national activities like 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' will lead you straight to hell," he warned.
The projects inaugurated on Sunday encompass a university building and a medical college named in honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
