Kolkata, Nov 25 (NationPress) The lifeless, bullet-riddled body of a Trinamool Congress worker and coal trader was discovered in the English Bazaar area of West Bengal's Malda district, approximately 12 hours after he was reported missing, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The police reported that the body was located in a mango orchard.
According to police accounts, the deceased worker was identified as Obaidullah Khan.
The young man, who was a coal trader, had been actively involved with the ruling party in West Bengal.
Family members stated that he had not been seen since Monday afternoon.
Obaidullah resided in the College More area of Kaliachak police station in Malda.
The victim's family mentioned that he departed from home on his bike around 4 p.m. on Monday.
However, he failed to return.
Despite numerous attempts, family members were unable to reach Obaidullah.
A missing person's report was finally filed at the Kaliachak police station on Monday evening.
On Wednesday morning, the family was informed that his body had been discovered in a mango orchard in the Katagar area of English Bazaar.
Additionally, his bike was located a short distance from the orchard.
The victim's family accused that Obaidullah was murdered.
However, they could not definitively indicate whether the motive was political, business-related, or personal.
The police retrieved the body and dispatched it for an autopsy.

Earlier this year, on January 2, Trinamool Congress leader and businessman Babla Sarkar was shot in the Mahananda Palli area of English Bazaar.
Police arrested nine suspects, including a former Chairman of the English Bazaar Municipality, Narendranath Tiwari, in connection with that case, which is still open.
