Patna, May 10 (NationPress) Mukesh Sahani, the national president of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), expressed his approval of the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan on Saturday, while emphasizing that Pakistan must take decisive action against terrorism on its soil.
In a statement shared on social media, Sahani conveyed solidarity with the Indian armed forces, stating: “We take pride in the bravery, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of our military. Jai Hind. Jai Hind Ki Sena. Every time Pakistan has tested our sovereignty, it has faced defeat — whether in 1971, during Kargil, or presently. Our army has exhibited unparalleled courage and restraint.”
Sahani noted that while Pakistan engages in provocations, India has shown restraint by avoiding attacks on civilian areas and executing strategic precision strikes.
He asserted that the professionalism and discipline of the Indian Army have been evident, even under severe provocations.
“With the declaration of a ceasefire, Pakistan must reflect on its actions. It should redirect its resources from mischief to dismantling the terrorist networks within its borders,” he stated.
Sahani remarked that this development reaffirms India’s determination and defensive capabilities, adding that “there are limits to restraint,” and the military's actions send a clear message to both state and non-state actors supporting terrorism.
“Let this represent a pivotal moment. If Pakistan genuinely seeks peace, it must take concrete steps against terrorism, not just verbalize its intentions,” he concluded.
Earlier, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the ceasefire, indicating that a discussion took place between the DGMOs (Director Generals of Military Operations) from both nations at 3:35 PM on Saturday.
“Both parties have agreed to cease all hostilities — on land, in air, and at sea — starting from 5:00 PM IST. Orders for immediate implementation have been issued,” Misri stated.
He reiterated India’s commitment to peace and regional stability while maintaining a strict stance against terrorism.
“Further discussions between Indian and Pakistani officials are set for May 12 to address post-ceasefire protocols,” he added.
