Raipur, Nov 1 (NationPress) Members of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi outside the Raipur airport, expressing their appreciation for the newly implemented GST 2.0 reforms.
As he arrived to partake in the Chhattisgarh Foundation Day celebrations, PM Modi experienced a grand reception in Raipur.
Ajay Bhasin, the State General Secretary of CCCI, informed IANS that all business sectors in the state are “completely ready and enthusiastic” to align with the Prime Minister’s vision of realizing a developed India by 2047.
He also mentioned that the chamber has urged businesses to guarantee that the advantages of GST 2.0 reach the end consumers.
Bhasin expressed his personal delight in meeting the Prime Minister, noting that catching a glimpse of PM Modi on Ekadashi was “no less than a gift.”
Sonia Sahu, the Vice President of the Chamber, stated that the entire team extends a warm welcome to PM Modi for the significant tax reforms. Meanwhile, Executive President Jaspreet Singh Saluja mentioned his hope to meet the Prime Minister in person but regrettably could not do so due to time limitations.
During his visit, PM Modi inaugurated the new Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Raipur.
In his address to the people and state government, he remarked, “I have witnessed the transformation of Chhattisgarh, from the resolution to the creation of the state to the fulfilment of that resolution.”
The GST 2.0 reforms, effective from September 22, 2025, have significantly restructured India's tax framework by reducing tax rates in several essential and consumer-focused categories. Notably, the government has lowered the GST on various everyday goods from 12 percent to 5 percent under this new system, including household items, processed foods, and small appliances from 18 percent to 12 percent.
