New Delhi, Sep 12 (NationPress) The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has unveiled a new video in the Charlie Kirk murder investigation that captures a suspect fleeing the crime scene just seconds after a single bullet struck the conservative activist.
The footage depicts the suspect dashing across the rooftop, leaping off the edge, and subsequently entering a wooded area on the campus of Utah Valley University following the shooting.
The FBI declared in a statement, “Around 12 p.m. Mountain Time on September 10, 2025, the individual ascended to a rooftop; after fatally shooting Charlie Kirk, he jumped down and fled. A firearm and ammunition were abandoned in a nearby wooded area.”
“Evidence collected from the rooftop included shoe prints, a forearm mark, and a palm print. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-FBI or visit fbi.gov/utahvalleyshooting,” it continued.
The suspect is seen in the video wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, a hat, sunglasses, and carrying a backpack.
DNA analysis of the crime scene has been performed to uncover more information about the suspect.
The Governor of Utah, during a briefing on Friday, mentioned that a significant amount of misinformation was spreading online, urging the public not to propagate it further. “Charlie wisely noted that when circumstances worsen, we should disconnect from our devices and spend quality time with our loved ones. Our adversaries seek chaos,” he stated.
As of now, no arrests have been made, but reports indicate that police have identified a “person of interest.”
A vast manhunt is currently in progress to capture the assailant. Authorities have received over 200 tips and are following various leads.
The FBI has offered a reward of $100,000 for information that leads to the suspect’s capture.
Charlie Kirk, at 31, was delivering a lecture at a campus event at Utah Valley University on Thursday when a shot struck him in the neck, causing chaos among attendees. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the leading conservative student organization in the nation. He established the Arizona-based group in 2012 at the young age of 18, transforming it into a political powerhouse with over 800 chapters in colleges across the United States. TPUSA became instrumental in mobilizing young conservative voters, especially during the 2024 election, where it significantly contributed to Trump’s re-election campaign.
