Patna, March 6 (NationPress) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has made a pointed criticism of the Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav during a session of the Bihar Assembly on Thursday, alleging that he is disseminating falsehoods and misleading the populace of Bihar.

Chaudhary condemned the 15 years of RJD governance under Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, stating: “There was no real progress for Bihar’s advancement. Instead, we witnessed merely entertainment such as dancing, singing, and ‘Launda Naach’ (a traditional dance of Bihar).”

He asserted that there was no focus on development, leaving the state entrenched in poverty. He accused Tejashwi of distorting facts within the Assembly.

Furthermore, he commented on Tejashwi Yadav’s childhood, claiming he did not focus on education and instead spent his time playing cricket. Tejashwi was a member of the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the IPL and participated in domestic cricket.

Chaudhary remarked: “He managed to score only 37 runs in his entire first-class cricket career. Which book or report is he referring to for his statistics?”

The Bihar Assembly is currently experiencing heightened verbal exchanges between the RJD and the BJP-JDU as the 2025 state elections approach.

Samrat Chaudhary also charged Tejashwi Yadav with concealing facts regarding his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s administration and misleading the public about economic progress.

Chaudhary compared economic indicators from the Lalu-Rabri era to the tenure under Nitish Kumar, stating: “In 2001, Bihar’s per capita income was merely Rs 6,000. Today, under CM Nitish Kumar’s guidance, it has escalated to Rs 66,000. This marks an 11-fold increase over the past two decades.”

He contended that had Lalu Yadav prioritized development between 1990-2005, Nitish Kumar would not have needed to reconstruct Bihar from the ground up. He emphasized a reduction in poverty under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

“At the time Nitish Kumar assumed office, 54% of Bihar’s population lived below the poverty line. Today, that figure has decreased to 34%,” Chaudhary stated.

Chaudhary also connected Lalu Prasad Yadav’s conviction in the fodder scam to the central government of that time, countering Tejashwi Yadav’s claims of it being a political conspiracy.

“In 1996, when Lalu Yadav was implicated in the fodder scam, HD Deve Gowda was the Prime Minister, and Lalu himself was a supporter. In 1997, when Lalu was imprisoned on a rickshaw, IK Gujral was the PM. Thus, the case against Lalu was initiated under his own party’s administration,” Chaudhary explained.

He accused Tejashwi of manipulating facts and deceiving the public: “Now, Tejashwi Yadav is creating confusion and false narratives about the fodder scam.”
