Mumbai, Nov 5 (NationPress) Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who is currently enjoying the success of her recent film “Thamma”, has opened up about navigating fame and expectations, as well as her forthcoming project “The Girlfriend”, which she asserts will have a profound influence.
Regarding the affection and attention she garners, Rashmika mentioned she strives to remain humble despite her rising stardom.
In her conversation with IANS, she stated: “Expectation, I understand, isn’t universal. Not every film resonates with everyone. However, I aspire to be an artist who explores diverse roles. For instance, while I’m focused on Thamma, I have also released films like Kubera, followed by Chaava, and before that, Pushpa.”
“I aim for variety in every character I portray, as that is my best contribution to my audience. I want them to relish the experience when they come to watch my performances.”
Rashmika expressed her desire for audiences to connect with the feelings she aims to project.
“I want them to be entertained, to feel relaxed and relish their time, you know? We have those two and a half to three hours in the cinema to offer them a chance to unwind from their daily lives. I believe this is my duty.”
On the topic of not allowing box office statistics to guide her decisions, Rashmika remarked, “The moment I start focusing on these figures and think, ‘Okay, I’ve made it,’ I would lose my drive. That’s not how I want to proceed. Tomorrow, I have the release of 'The Girlfriend'.”
“It’s not just about the revenue. I genuinely believe this story deserves to be shared. I’m less concerned about its financial success; rather, I know it will be discussed for years to come.”
Describing “The Girlfriend” as “a niche, thought-provoking film,” she added: “It’s crucial to balance such projects with my commercial films. I’m unsure of my trajectory, but I am definitely on a journey.”
“The Girlfriend,” a highly anticipated Telugu romantic drama, features Dheekshith Shetty and is helmed by director Rahul Ravindran.
