Raipur, June 25 (NationPress) The Raipur Police have successfully solved the shocking suitcase murder case that rattled the city last week. The remains of Kishore Paikra, a disabled man in his 30s, were discovered crammed inside a cement-filled suitcase abandoned in the underbrush behind Indraprastha Phase-2 of the state capital.

The investigation resulted in the capture of four suspects, notably the main perpetrator, lawyer Ankit Upadhyay, and his spouse Shivani Sharma, who were intercepted at the Delhi airport while attempting to escape.

Authorities revealed that the murder was meticulously planned, stemming from a monetary disagreement. Ankit allegedly aimed to claim an ancestral property where Kishore resided.

In 2018, Kishore had sold land valued at Rs 30 lakh in Tilda’s Madhi village, with Ankit's assistance, for which Ankit earned a Rs 2 lakh commission.

Subsequently, police stated that Ankit had additionally taken Rs 10 lakh from Kishore, assuring resolution of disputes concerning other land parcels. When no action was taken, Kishore began to demand his money back.

Ankit, who also coveted Kishore’s remaining Rs 18 lakh, became agitated by the demands and the costs of caring for Kishore, who became immobile after a bicycle accident.

On June 19, the couple rented an apartment in Indraprastha Phase-2, paying Rs 6,500 online. They lured Kishore to the apartment on June 21 under the guise of cleaning his ancestral home.

After serving him breakfast, Ankit strangled Kishore while Shivani restrained his legs. Ankit subsequently stabbed him in the neck to ensure his demise. The body remained in the apartment for two days as the couple sought a method to dispose of it. Initially, they attempted to use a suitcase, but due to excessive bleeding, it became unsuitable.

They purchased a new box, filled it with cement to obscure the smell, and concealed the body inside.

With assistance from their acquaintances Vinay and Suryakant Yadav, they transported the heavy box via the lift and discarded it in nearby foliage during daylight.

Their actions were captured on CCTV. Subsequently, both accused fled to Delhi, where they intended to start anew.

The breakthrough occurred when police traced the suitcase back to the rented apartment through digital payment logs and eyewitness testimonies. The landlord verified the couple’s identity.

All four suspects have been arrested and will appear in court soon. Authorities plan to conduct a scene recreation as part of the ongoing investigation.
