Raipur, Aug 19 (NationPress) In a significant financial boost just before the festive season, the Chhattisgarh state government has declared a 2 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees, elevating it to 55 percent, thus aligning it with the rate set by the Central government.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Tuesday, "The DA provided by the Government of India stands at 55 percent. Previously, we offered 53 percent in Chhattisgarh. With the upcoming Diwali festivities, we are pleased to announce that our employees will now receive 55 percent DA."
This increase is set to positively impact over 300,000 government employees and officials throughout the state, helping to alleviate inflationary challenges and enhancing household expenditure.
The decision showcases the government’s dedication to maintaining parity with Central government pay structures while providing timely assistance to its workforce.
Additionally, the Council of Ministers has sanctioned the monthly distribution of 2 kg of gram through the Public Distribution System to Antyodaya and Priority Category families living in Scheduled Areas and MADA zones.
The procurement process will be managed by the Civil Supplies Corporation via the NeML e-auction platform, with a transaction fee capped at 0.25 percent or less for the fiscal year 2024-25.
The cabinet has also mandated that beneficiaries who missed their allocations between July and November 2025 must receive their pending entitlements by December.
On the development front, the cabinet approved the allocation of 90 acres of land at reduced premium rates in Nava Raipur to encourage the establishment of IT and IITS industries.
This initiative aims to attract private investments, create jobs, and accelerate industrial development.
Officials have noted that offering land at lower rates will stimulate engagement from tech firms and startups, fostering a vibrant ecosystem for innovation and infrastructure.
The government highlighted that this IT initiative will not only spur technical and economic activities but also support urbanization and settlement in Nava Raipur.
The influx of IT companies is anticipated to provide both direct and indirect advantages to local communities, including job creation and enhanced civic facilities.
