Chief Minister Yadav to Initiate IT Park Construction at Ujjain Engineering College

Bhopal, Dec 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for an IT Park in his native district of Ujjain on Saturday.

During a ceremony at Ujjain Engineering College located on Indore Road, Chief Minister Yadav will conduct the 'bhoomi-puja' for this project, which has an estimated initial phase cost of Rs 46 crore.

The state government has designated 2.16 hectares of land within the premises of Government Ujjain Engineering College in Goylakhurd village for the establishment of this IT Park in the sacred city of Mahakal.

Project officials revealed that numerous companies have expressed interest in establishing software units, AI facilities, call centers, and business process outsourcing operations within the park.

The comprehensive project will unfold over five phases, with architectural designs influenced by the Anant concept associated with Mahakal, according to project officials. The construction work for the park is expected to be completed within a span of three years.

The state government anticipates that Ujjain's inaugural IT Park, developed by Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation Limited (MPIDC), will create substantial employment opportunities for local youth.

Officials further noted that the saturation of IT hubs like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune presents significant opportunities for Ujjain's ideal ecosystem.

According to an official, IIT-Indore's off-campus is also planned to be situated within the engineering college premises. The IT Park in Mahakal City aims to diversify economic activities and mitigate brain drain.

In addition, a similar IT Park is proposed at Government Engineering College Rewa, though the timeline for the formal groundbreaking announcement is yet to be disclosed.

The state government has indicated that the forthcoming IT parks in Ujjain and Rewa are expected to bolster Madhya Pradesh's status as a significant contender in the IT sector, attract considerable investments, and foster regional development.
