Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Wednesday confirmed that his party will field candidates in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, marking a significant expansion of LJP(RV)'s political footprint beyond its Bihar stronghold. The announcement came during the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelan' in Jamui, Bihar, where Paswan also launched a pointed attack on the Congress and the opposition INDIA alliance.

The UP Declaration

Paswan left little ambiguity about his party's intentions. 'The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) intends to contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections, and responsibility for the state has already been assigned to our party leadership,' he said. The statement signals an organised, not merely aspirational, push into India's most electorally significant state, which sends 80 members to the Lok Sabha and has been a decisive battleground in every national election cycle.

Sharp Attack on the INDIA Bloc

Paswan was unsparing in his criticism of the opposition alliance. He alleged that INDIA bloc leaders convene after electoral defeats but undermine each other during state-level contests — a pattern he argued reflects structural incoherence rather than tactical disagreement. 'The opposition is not learning from its mistakes. We do not believe it will be able to revive itself in the next 30–40 years,' he said. Taking a direct swipe at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other opposition figures, Paswan argued that internal contradictions have eroded their credibility with voters. He also responded to comments attributed to Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Javed Ali Khan, stating that extremist rhetoric must be rejected regardless of its source.

NDA's Narrative: Security, Growth, Unity

Paswan reiterated the NDA government's governing philosophy of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas', framing inclusive development and social harmony as the alliance's central pitch. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with stronger national security posture, asserting that India now responds more assertively to terrorism and security threats. He also pointed to improvements in infrastructure, economic growth, and poverty reduction, describing India as one of the world's fastest-growing major economies under Modi's leadership.

The Jamui sammelan drew senior NDA leaders including Arun Bharti, Sanjay Singh, Shreyasi Singh, Sanjay Paswan, and Ashraf Ansari, alongside party workers and representatives from NDA constituent parties.
