Patna, April 5 (NationPress) Union Minister Chirag Paswan made a visit to his ill mother in his ancestral village located in Shaharbanni, Khagaria on Saturday.
Rajkumari Devi is the first spouse of the late Ram Vilas Paswan.
The encounter was filled with emotion as Rajkumari Devi embraced Chirag, breaking down in tears upon seeing him.
Arriving by helicopter, Chirag inquired about her health and expressed concern over a troubling incident where her bedroom and bathroom were locked, and her belongings were discarded from their ancestral home.
This incident led to a decline in Rajkumari Devi’s health, which resulted in an FIR being filed at the Alauli police station.
During a media briefing, Chirag Paswan made serious accusations against his uncle and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party chief Pashupati Kumar Paras, alleging he orchestrated the incident.
“First, he seized the Delhi residence for political gains, then ousted me and my mother (Reena Paswan) from the party. Now, this maltreatment of my elder mother (Rajkumari Devi) for financial interests is disgraceful,” Paswan proclaimed.
He warned that if a formal division of property is desired by his uncle and aunt, he is prepared for it—while also suggesting the potential exposure of undisclosed family assets.
“If it comes to partition, then all hidden properties will be revealed,” he warned.
Chirag also made significant claims against his aunt, asserting: “She is a government school teacher, yet villagers say she does not attend school and still receives a salary. This needs investigation.”
The Union Minister conveyed deep concern for his elder mother, stating that she has lived in the ancestral home for decades and that any harassment against her is intolerable.
In response, former MP and cousin Prince Raj, present at a joint workers’ conference of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party and Dalit Sena in Darbhanga, dismissed Chirag’s allegations.
“This is simply dirty politics. Similar schemes were propagated in 2020 and are being repeated in 2025. Who knows what will happen in 2030?” he remarked sarcastically.
Prince Raj criticized the politicization of a family matter, implying that Chirag's associates are filing police reports and seeking media attention for personal gain.
“Why is a representative of an MP filing a police case if this is merely a housing issue? Filing a case against our mother is a political strategy. Those who rarely visit the village are now involving the media,” he added.
