New Delhi, June 22 (NationPress) Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted that the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi have brought about a significant democratisation of India's Civil Services. Young individuals from underprivileged families and distant locations have successfully secured some of the nation’s most prestigious positions, fulfilling their dreams.

In an interview with Doordarshan News, the Minister noted that previously, the IAS and other Civil Services were primarily dominated by a few states such as Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Today, however, exceptional candidates are emerging from states that were once underrepresented, including Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir.

He mentioned the inspiring story of Parsanjit Kour from Poonch, a border district in J&K, who achieved All India Rank 11 in the Civil Services Exam 2022 on her first attempt, along with Anmol Sher Singh Bedi from Punjab, who secured All India Rank 2 in 2016.

This progress, the Minister asserted, has renewed faith in the fairness and opportunities provided by the system, leading to a more inclusive youth aspiration landscape.

“This embodies the true spirit of democracy—where every mother, irrespective of her socio-economic background, believes that her child can rise to the top,” Dr Jitendra Singh affirmed.

He described the past 11 years as transformational for India, stating, “What generations yearned for over decades has been realized in just over a decade.” He noted how PM Modi has replaced sorrow with hope and future aspirations.

Each year has been marked by significant advancements—infrastructure, governance, technology, and youth empowerment—creating remarkable opportunities for all Indians.

Dr Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Public Grievances and Pensions, remarked that under PM Modi’s guidance, the self-esteem of citizens has been revitalized. He referenced the PM’s historic 2016 initiative, “Start-Up India, Stand-Up India,” which expanded the job landscape beyond traditional government roles.

“People began to realize that a job isn't solely about 'Sarkari Naukri'; it encompasses innovation, entrepreneurship, and startups,” he emphasized.

He pointed out that India’s biotech sector exemplifies this growth, surging from merely 50 startups in 2014 to over 10,075 by 2024, with its valuation skyrocketing from $10 billion to nearly $170 billion. He attributed this success to robust public-private partnerships and visionary policies such as Bio-E3 and the National Quantum Mission.
