New Delhi, Nov 27 (NationPress) Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj from the Indian national cricket team has expressed his frustration on social media regarding a disappointing experience with Air India Express. He detailed that his flight, Air India Express Flight IX 2884 from Guwahati to Hyderabad, was supposed to take off at 7:25 PM, yet it remained grounded for an extended period. Siraj noted that despite his numerous inquiries, the airline failed to provide a satisfactory update, leaving passengers in a state of uncertainty for four hours.
“A delay of four hours without any communication has resulted in us being stranded. This is the worst airline experience,” Siraj stated, cautioning potential travelers against boarding the flight unless the airline is willing to take accountability.
Siraj was en route back to Hyderabad after the Indian team faced a humiliating 408-run defeat against South Africa, marking a 0-2 loss in the two-match series—this follows a clean sweep at home in the previous year against New Zealand.
In the second Test, Simon Harmer from South Africa claimed 6-37 as India, attempting to chase a daunting target of 549, collapsed to 140 all out on the final day, despite Ravindra Jadeja being the standout performer with 54 runs, the sole highlight in a disheartened batting display.
South Africa not only secured their largest victory over India in Tests but also inflicted India with their heaviest Test defeat in terms of runs. From the moment South Africa won the toss, their success was clear, having previously defeated India by 30 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
In light of these recent performances, India is left grappling with pressing concerns regarding their once-formidable reputation at home, which has now seen a significant decline following the 3-0 defeat against New Zealand last year.
In the recent match in Guwahati, Siraj recorded figures of 2-106 in the first innings and 0-19 in the second.
The Indian team is set to face South Africa again in a three-match ODI series starting from November 30.
