Mumbai, Oct 4 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has mandated that all infrastructure projects related to the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela be executed with both quality and speed, given that the Kumbh Mela represents a profound aspect of cultural and religious tradition.
During a review meeting concerning the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela, he emphasized the urgency of completing the new ring road in Nashik and expediting land acquisition for the Sadhu Village/Tent City.
CM Fadnavis remarked that as the Simhastha Kumbh Mela is a cornerstone of religious faith, efforts must be made to maintain the cleanliness of the Ramkund and riverbed throughout the festival.
He underscored the need for priority sewage management and swift completion of necessary facilities at airports and railway stations.
“The construction of the new ring road in Nashik must be prioritized and any delays will be unacceptable. Relevant departments should promptly approve the funds required. Other road projects must also commence immediately to avoid inconveniences to the public. Facilities in Sadhugram must be tailored to the needs of the devotees after consultations with various akharas,” he stated.
CM Fadnavis also proposed installing CCTVs in a centralized manner for enhanced security.
To ensure law and order, various AI technologies should be leveraged, and arrangements for police accommodations must be prioritized.
“For the promotion of the Kumbh Mela, the concept of 'Digital Kumbh' should be deployed. A dedicated strategy for publicity is essential. Should negative publicity arise, the concerned department must promptly offer a factual response to the media. It’s crucial to expedite recruitment at the district level for Kumbh Mela tasks,” he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stressed the significance of completing Kumbh Mela preparations promptly.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar insisted on ensuring that all work associated with the Kumbh Mela is of exemplary quality.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal called for continuous measures to maintain the purity of the riverbed water during and after the Kumbh Mela.
School Education Minister Dada Bhuse highlighted the need for accelerating development projects in nearby pilgrimage sites in light of the Kumbh Mela.
