Bhubaneswar, Sep 15 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, announced on Monday that the state administration is prioritizing the manufacturing of high-value products to position Odisha as India's manufacturing hub.
While participating in a foundation stone-laying ceremony, CM Majhi stated, "When Odisha draws investments, it boosts the confidence of industries in the region. There is a growing trust among investors regarding the Odisha government's policies and its dedication to fostering industrial growth."
He further emphasized, "We are appealing to investors for the production of diverse high-value products to elevate Odisha into the manufacturing hub of Eastern India. Our focus is on creating goods that can stand strong in the global marketplace by enhancing our position in the manufacturing value chain."
The event, held at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology Convention Centre, marked the laying of the foundation for 27 industries spreading across 12 districts of the state.
According to an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office, CM Majhi revealed that over Rs 25,000 crore is being invested in these 27 projects, which are anticipated to generate employment for more than 52,000 youth.
"Our (BJP) government has been in power in Odisha for merely 15 months. Within this brief timeframe, we have approved 260 industrial projects expected to attract investments of Rs 5.6 lakh crore and create jobs for 3.6 lakh individuals. Additionally, we have laid the foundation for 84 industrial projects during this period, leading to an infusion of over Rs 2 lakh crore into Odisha, creating around 1.64 lakh jobs," the Chief Minister highlighted.
During the event, CM Majhi assured industrialists that the state government is not only implementing essential policies but also providing specific incentives tailored for industry establishment in Odisha.
"We have eliminated bureaucratic barriers within the government framework. We are always prepared to assist industrialists in their journey of establishing industries. Our government is ready to address any challenges faced by industrialists and offer necessary support whenever needed," he assured.
He also encouraged industrialists to participate in the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0" initiative by planting saplings in their respective areas to ensure its success.
