During a seminar commemorating the 58th Engineer’s Day 2025 at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala, the Chief Minister emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously introduced the concept of building Viksit Bharat 2047. In alignment with this national agenda, Tripura has outlined its own roadmap towards realizing Viksit Tripura 2047.
According to Saha, Tripura stands at fifth position nationally in declaring the Viksit Tripura 2047 initiative. He remarked, “Without the development of infrastructure, the state cannot progress. The Prime Minister has prioritized infrastructure growth. For the fiscal year 2025-26, approximately Rs 7,000 crore has been earmarked for infrastructure enhancement. Engineers will be crucial in this endeavor, from designing projects to constructing bridges and roads,” he added.
While unveiling the 'Viksit Tripura-2047 Vision Document', the Chief Minister reiterated that the government is focused on the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' mission, which translates to 'Atmanirbhar Tripura' as the guiding principle of governance.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Saha announced the adoption of the 'Vocal for Local' strategy, emphasizing the importance of promoting and purchasing local products. “Through collaborative efforts, we aim to create an 'Atmanirbhar Tripura' and ensure self-reliance for every citizen. Innovations will propel India into the global spotlight in fields like artificial intelligence, space exploration, biotechnology, and renewable energy,” CM Saha stated.
During the event, he conveyed his greetings on the occasion of Engineer’s Day, highlighting the contributions of Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya to drinking water resource management. He noted the presence of various engineering institutions in Tripura, including the Tripura Institute of Technology, Polytechnic Institute, National Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), and Techno India.
