During a ceremony, the Chief Minister launched 14 projects and initiated 5 more under the Social Welfare and Social Education Department. He stated that the BJP government is relentlessly working to ensure that government services reach the last person in society.
CM Saha revealed that in the current financial year budget (2025-26), an allocation of Rs 7,000 crore has been set aside for various infrastructure developments, asserting that progress in the state is impossible without it.
Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat 2047, the Tripura government unveiled the 'Viksit Tripura-2047 Vision Document' on August 22, charting a course for the state's development by 2047.
Notably, Tripura is the fifth state in India and the first in the Northeast to declare its development roadmap for 2047 through this vision document. CM Saha emphasized that 'Atmanirbhar Tripura' is a key principle for the state's governance, mirroring the national 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' mission.
He reiterated that Prime Minister Modi described 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' not just as a government initiative but as a mass movement.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that the state government has adopted a 'Vocal for Local' strategy, prioritizing the purchase and promotion of local products.
He stressed the utmost importance of infrastructure development, warning that failure to advance in this area will lead to future challenges for the populace.
According to Saha, the BJP government is dedicated to the holistic development of all segments of society, including women and children. He announced plans for constructing 10 new working women’s hostels across the state, with a budget of Rs 114 crore.
Each hostel will accommodate 100 women and be equipped with modern facilities, costing Rs 11.40 crore each. Additionally, the Social Welfare and Social Education (SWSE) Department has provided disability identity cards to 41,694 differently-abled individuals to ensure they can access various benefits.
