Agartala, Feb 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, announced on Friday that the state is entering a significant stage of development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The collaboration between the Centre and the state government aims to ensure that welfare initiatives reach even the most marginalized individuals in society.
After virtually inaugurating three development projects in Udaipur, within Gomati district, the Chief Minister stated that these initiatives will pave the way for improved infrastructure while also supporting environmental preservation, urban growth, and overall economic advancement.
He indicated that development initiatives worth approximately Rs 1,300 crore are currently in progress throughout Tripura.
Expressing confidence in India's trajectory, he remarked that the nation is on a steady path towards becoming a developed country by 2047 and encouraged citizens to actively contribute to achieving this national vision.
“The current administration is executing development programs with both speed and sensitivity, ensuring support for the populace during both happy and challenging times,” the Chief Minister emphasized.
Focusing on the Prime Minister's vision, Saha reiterated that the aim is the holistic development of the underprivileged, farmers, women, and youth.
“As a dedicated protector of the nation, the Prime Minister has fortified national security while countering various conspiracies,” he added.
The Chief Minister also shared that a paperless administrative system has been implemented from the Civil Secretariat down to the Panchayat level. He highlighted that after Goa and Mizoram, Tripura has achieved full literacy and has received 347 accolades at both national and regional levels.
Saha announced that the Vande Bharat Express will soon be launched in Tripura to enhance the transportation infrastructure. Furthermore, he mentioned that efforts will commence shortly to upgrade the road from Agartala to Udaipur into a four-lane highway.
“The government’s vision extends beyond just the development of Agartala; it aims for balanced and inclusive progress throughout the entire state,” he stated.
Additionally, the Chief Minister revealed plans to establish an Ayurvedic hospital in Tepania, Udaipur. He noted that there are currently 450 students enrolled in MBBS programs across three medical colleges, along with 63 students pursuing BDS in the state.
Efforts are also being made to establish a health university in Tripura, as stated by Saha, who also oversees the Health and Family Welfare portfolio.
He expressed hope that investments totaling around Rs 15,000 crore will soon flow into the state, noting that Tripura now boasts approximately 923 km of national highways, a significant increase from the previous 198 km.
