Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday, 14 July inaugurated 11 development projects worth ₹105.73 crore at Rajarshi Hall in Udaipur, under Gomati district in southern Tripura, reaffirming the state government's commitment to infrastructure, healthcare, and public welfare under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event marked another milestone in what Saha described as an accelerating development push across the state.

Infrastructure Push and Capital Expenditure

Chief Minister Saha said the state government has earmarked ₹10,000 crore as capital expenditure for infrastructure creation. He noted that in the last financial year 2025-26, he personally inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth nearly ₹1,500 crore. In the current financial year alone, projects worth over ₹121 crore have already been inaugurated or launched.

Saha attributed the region's improved connectivity to Prime Minister Modi's HIRA model — covering Highways, Internetways, Railways, and Airways — which he said has significantly enhanced Tripura's visibility and accessibility across the country.

Healthcare Initiatives and 'Sustho Tripura' Vision

Highlighting a growing public health concern, Saha said non-communicable diseases including hypertension, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cancer, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and alcoholic fatty liver disease account for a large number of deaths nationally, with Tripura also bearing a significant share of this burden.

To address this, the state has launched a statewide screening programme targeting all residents above the age of 30 years, with an annual screening target of 15 lakh people. The Chief Minister said early detection is critical to realising the vision of a 'Sustho Tripura' (Healthy Tripura).

Among the healthcare programmes introduced are the Mukhyamantri Niramaya Arogya Abhiyan, an integrated laboratory network, and the Stop Diarrhoea campaign, all operating under a hub-and-spoke healthcare model. Saha said citizens no longer need to travel outside the state or visit private laboratories for diagnostic tests, as the government is equipping public facilities with modern infrastructure.

The newly inaugurated civil hospital — starting with 50 beds and offering round-the-clock outpatient department (OPD) services — is being positioned as a replicable model. If successful, Saha said, similar hospitals will be established across the remaining 19 Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat areas, bringing government hospital facilities on par with corporate healthcare standards.

Destination Tripura Conclave 2026: Investment Surge

Referring to the recently concluded Destination Tripura Conclave 2026, Saha said the event surpassed expectations, drawing more than 1,200 delegates from across India and abroad. While the original target was to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹1 lakh crore, investment proposals ultimately reached ₹1.21 lakh crore — exceeding the goal by 21%.

The Chief Minister said this reflects growing investor confidence in the state, backed by improved connectivity and a stable governance environment.

Awards, GSDP Growth, and National Recognition

Saha said Tripura's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has registered substantial growth and that the state has received more than 350 national awards across various sectors. He added that the government is implementing several futuristic projects aimed at benefiting the next generation.

The event was attended by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Jitendra Majumder, Secretaries Kiran Gitte and P.K. Chakraborty, along with senior government officials and other dignitaries.

With a ₹10,000 crore capital expenditure commitment and investment proposals crossing ₹1.21 lakh crore, the Tripura government's development trajectory will be closely watched in the months ahead.
