Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday, June 8, 2026, laid foundation stones and inaugurated a series of infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,674.74 crore in and around Miyapur in western Hyderabad, covering road flyovers, railway overbridges, a new civic headquarters, and social welfare facilities.

Context

The event, held at Miyapur, saw the Chief Minister simultaneously flag off multiple urban development works spread across the western corridor of Hyderabad. The largest single outlay was a Rs 530 crore flyover at Miyapur Chowrasta, a key intersection that experiences heavy traffic from the city's information technology belt. A Rs 308 crore Rail Over Bridge at Serilingampally was also among the projects receiving a foundation stone.

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) headquarters at Miyapur, to be built at a cost of Rs 161 crore, received its foundation stone as well, providing the civic body a dedicated administrative building for the first time.

Policy Backdrop

The Outer Ring Road (ORR), which encircles Hyderabad, featured prominently in the bundle of projects. Foundation stones were laid for Rs 229 crore worth of service road bridges and new service roads on both sides of the ORR, and a Rs 26.50 crore expansion of the main carriageway on the left side of the ORR between Nanakramguda and Gachibowli. A Rs 29.25 crore four-lane approach ramp connecting two Railway Over Bridges near Kollur Interchange was also included.

A Rs 110 crore pipeline road from MGIT on Shankarpally Road to Manikonda received its foundation stone, adding another arterial link to the western suburb network. The Bachupally Flyover, built at Rs 65.53 crore, was inaugurated, marking the completion of at least one project in the bundle.

Stakeholders and Impact

Beyond road infrastructure, the announcements included two social welfare projects. A Young India Integrated School worth Rs 200 crore received a foundation stone, part of the state's programme to build integrated school campuses. Working women in the Madhapur and Nanakramguda areas are set to benefit from two new hostels to be built at a combined cost of Rs 14.40 crore.

Residents of Miyapur, Serilingampally, Bachupally, and surrounding localities are the primary beneficiaries of the road works, as these areas sit at the confluence of IT office clusters and dense residential growth. Commuters using the ORR and its service roads are also expected to see long-term relief from congestion once the projects are completed.

What's Next

With foundation stones laid for the bulk of these projects, attention will now shift to execution timelines and contractor appointments for works totalling over Rs 1,600 crore. The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation headquarters construction and the Miyapur Chowrasta flyover — the two headline projects — will be closely watched given their scale and visibility in the western corridor. Further bundled infrastructure launches in other zones of Hyderabad are possible as the state government continues its urban development push.
