Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday, 18 June 2026 inaugurated the Sahakar Seva Bhavan, the new headquarters of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Goa, at Merces in North Goa. The event was held in the presence of Water Resources Development and Cooperation Minister Subhash Shirodkar, MLA Rudolf Fernandes, and senior state officials.

Sawant described the inauguration as a step toward strengthening administrative efficiency in the cooperative sector, noting that the new headquarters would serve over 5,600 cooperative societies operating across various sectors in Goa. The Chief Minister also felicitated cooperative and multipurpose societies that have shown excellent performance and contribution toward the cooperative movement in the state.

In his post, Sawant reaffirmed the state government's commitment to the vision of 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi' (Cooperatives for Prosperity), citing the promotion of 'transparency, financial discipline and growth in the cooperative sector with continued support from NABARD and various institutions.'
