Chennai, July 26 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Saturday paid heartfelt tributes to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil War, emphasizing that their unparalleled bravery and ultimate sacrifice will always be remembered in the nation's heart.
On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, CM Stalin shared on the social media platform 'X', "On this Kargil Victory Day, I pay my respects to the courageous soldiers who valiantly defended our motherland and made the ultimate sacrifice. Their valor and sacrifice will remain forever in our memories."
Every year on July 26, Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated to celebrate India's triumph over Pakistani forces in the Kargil region of Jammu and Kashmir.
The conflict, which spanned nearly three months, witnessed Indian soldiers reclaiming crucial peaks amid challenging weather and enemy fire.
The operation, termed 'Operation Vijay', successfully led to the expulsion of Pakistani troops from Indian territory, reinstating India’s authority over the area.
Despite being hospitalized at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, CM Stalin has actively continued to manage state affairs.
He was admitted earlier this week after experiencing dizziness and later diagnosed with fluctuations in heart rate.
A medical bulletin from the hospital confirmed he underwent a procedure and is in stable condition.
Officials from the Chief Minister’s Office reported that Stalin has been in constant communication with senior officials and is overseeing critical government initiatives from his hospital room.
On Friday and Saturday, he conducted virtual meetings with Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena and other high-ranking bureaucrats, reviewed important files, and approved ongoing projects, including the state's public grievance resolution initiative '#WithYou_Stalin'.
A senior DMK official remarked, "Even from his hospital bed, Thalaivar is actively guiding us to ensure the effective functioning of the state."
The Chief Minister is expected to remain under observation in the hospital for a few more days.
