Key Takeaways
Lucknow, Nov 10 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, expressed his profound sorrow alongside numerous national figures regarding the tragic car explosion that occurred near Delhi's Red Fort, resulting in 10 fatalities and numerous injuries earlier this evening.
In a poignant message shared on his X account, the CM offered his condolences to those who lost loved ones and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured, seeking Lord Shri Ram's divine assistance.
"The tragic loss of life in today's explosion in Delhi is truly heartbreaking," Adityanath stated.
"My heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have suffered such a loss. I beseech Lord Shri Ram to provide salvation to the souls who have departed, grant strength to the grieving families, and ensure a swift recovery for the injured."
The explosion, which took place near Gate No. 1 of Lal Qila Metro Station, caused widespread panic in the bustling Old Delhi neighborhood.
Witnesses recounted a thunderous blast that "felt like the ground collapsing," with thick black smoke rising from the debris.
Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha confirmed the explosion's severity, stating that seven fire engines were dispatched to extinguish the flames, while the area was quickly secured.
Interestingly, earlier that day, the J&K Police dismantled an interstate transnational terror network associated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, recovering 2,900 kg of explosives, assault rifles, pistols, timers, and other materials in the Faridabad area of Haryana, close to New Delhi. Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with this.
This incident, following the earlier terror module bust, occurred just one day prior to the second phase of the Bihar assembly elections.
