The Purvanchal Expressway, a 341-km access-controlled corridor linking Lucknow to Ghazipur, was inaugurated in November 2021 and serves as the backbone for several of the link expressways now under review. The Agra-Lucknow Expressway, operational since 2016, anchors the western-central connectivity spine being extended through these new links.

The planned Noida-Jewar Link and Jewar Link Expressway are directly tied to the Noida International Airport at Jewar, a greenfield aviation hub positioned as Delhi-NCR's second major airport. Faster land acquisition for these corridors is critical to ensuring the airport's multimodal access network is ready alongside the facility itself.

Stakeholders and Impact

The review also covered two other major projects. CM Yogi directed that all formalities for the Kukrail Night Safari project in Lucknow be completed promptly to ensure time-bound implementation of this eco-tourism initiative in the city's Kukrail forest reserve. The project is intended to develop urban wildlife tourism infrastructure in the state capital.

Additionally, the Multi Modal Logistics Hub and Multi Modal Transport Hub being developed in Greater Noida came under the Chief Minister's scrutiny. CM Yogi instructed that all formalities for both hubs be completed within the stipulated timeline. The Greater Noida multimodal hubs align with India's National Logistics Policy 2022, which identified such nodes as key to cutting national logistics costs and improving freight movement efficiency.
