New Delhi, May 29 (NationPress) In the wake of criticism from prominent Congress figures such as Udit Raj, Pawan Khera, and Jairam Ramesh aimed at party MP Shashi Tharoor for his recent remarks in Panama — where he commended the Narendra Modi administration's approach to terrorism — senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi asserted that the Congress party seeks to have delegations speak against the nation on international platforms.

Naqvi emphasized that parliamentary delegations stand for the nation, not for individual political entities, and any effort to politicize these platforms poses a significant threat to national interests.

In an interview with IANS, Naqvi stated, “I understand their stubbornness regarding PM Modi’s achievements. However, we are witnessing a trend where the Congress has transformed its bias against Modi Ji into a campaign against national security. If their animosity towards Modi evolves into antagonism towards the nation's interests, it will spell trouble for the Congress party.”

Naqvi further criticized the Congress for questioning India's military operations and condemned its responses to crucial security actions. He highlighted significant events such as the Kargil War, the Balakot airstrikes, and Operation Sindoor, asserting that the Congress has repeatedly failed to support the armed forces.

“When our military has exhibited valor — dismantling terrorist bases beyond our borders — the entire nation applauded their bravery. Yet, while Pakistan demanded evidence, the Congress mirrored those demands here. This mentality — this 'jugalbandi' of skepticism and denial — is perilous. Rather than aligning with the nation, Congress opts to question its own,” he remarked.

Naqvi stressed that delegations traveling abroad ought to represent the nation, not political agendas.

“Any delegation that has left the country is a representation of the nation, not of a political party. The representatives articulate the interests of the country, not their party affiliations. However, the Congress wishes for these delegations to criticize India on the global stage. If they start echoing the sentiments of those who harbor terrorists in Pakistan, that is unacceptable,” he told IANS.

He cautioned that if the Congress persists on what he termed a “self-destructive” trajectory, its political future will be at risk.

“If Congress has become the custodian of a political suicide mission, no one can rescue them. They appear intent on obliterating what is left of their credibility.”

Naqvi also commented on the Modi government approaching its 11th year in power, defending the administration’s record. He characterized it as a government devoid of dynastic or party-driven influences.

“This is the first administration post-Independence that is free from the Congress' influence and any political dynasty. All prior governments, even non-Congress ones, were often manipulated by the Congress' remote control or constrained by political families,” he stated.

He described previous governments as either “hostage administrations” or “remote-controlled by influential families,” asserting that the current BJP-led government is distinct.

“This government is not a dynasty government, not a proxy government, and certainly not one that takes orders from the elite. It is a people-oriented government focused on effective governance. That is why it has gained the public's trust and is confidently progressing into its third term,” Naqvi proclaimed.

Looking forward, he predicted a continued mandate for Prime Minister Modi.

“The groundwork for a fourth term is being laid. The public will once again entrust their faith in Modi Ji and the NDA. The Congress’ vexation, stemming from consistent defeats, is leading them towards political recklessness,” he asserted.

Naqvi concluded by urging the Opposition to prioritize national interests over party politics.

“Disagreeing with the government is a democratic right, but articulating dissent against the country, especially on international platforms, is not only irresponsible—it’s perilous,” he stated.

Point of View

My perspective remains firmly aligned with national interests. The importance of presenting a unified front on international platforms cannot be overstated, especially in matters of national security. The dialogue around criticism of the nation abroad must prioritize unity and patriotism over political rivalry.
