Navi Mumbai, Oct 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party on Wednesday, asserting that the government led by them after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks displayed clear weakness and did not take a definitive stance against terrorism.

Mumbai, recognized as India’s financial hub, was the target of a significant attack in 2008. PM Modi stated, “The Congress government in power at that time projected a message of capitulation to terrorism, instead of responding with strength.” This remark was made during the inauguration ceremony of the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).

Modi pointed out that a senior Congress leader, who previously held the position of Home Minister, recently disclosed in an interview that the armed forces were ready to retaliate against Pakistan post the 2008 attacks.

“The entire nation was in favor of this action; however, due to external pressure, the Congress government halted a military response against Pakistan,” he added.

PM Modi urged Congress to reveal the individual behind the decision that compromised the sentiments of Mumbai and the nation.

“Our vision resonates with the principle of ‘One Nation, One Mobility’. The launch of the Mumbai One App is a step towards achieving this objective. The security of our country and citizens is paramount. Today's India responds decisively, as demonstrated in Operation Sindoor,” he emphasized.

He encouraged citizens to adopt Swadeshi principles.

“Proudly declare, this is Swadeshi. This should be the guiding principle for every household and marketplace. Each citizen should bring home and gift Swadeshi products. This will ensure that the nation’s wealth remains within India, providing jobs for our laborers and opportunities for our youth. Visualize the strength of India when all embrace Swadeshi,” he remarked.

PM Modi highlighted that India is the world's youngest nation, with youth being its greatest asset.

“Our policies are directed towards job creation, with major investments facilitating employment. For instance, constructing the Vadhavan port for ₹76,000 crore will not just uplift the economy but also generate numerous job opportunities,” said PM Modi.

Point of View

It is imperative to acknowledge that national security is a critical concern for all citizens. PM Modi's comments reflect a growing sentiment that emphasizes the need for accountability and transparency in decision-making, especially during crises. The focus on Swadeshi aligns with promoting local economies, which is essential for the future of our nation.
