Jaipur, April 21 (NationPress) The Congress plans to initiate a comprehensive campaign targeting the Central government, commencing with a significant state-level rally in Jaipur on April 28 as part of its ‘Save Constitution’ initiative.

Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra stated that the campaign will extend from the state level down to the grassroots in the weeks to come.

He mentioned that the rally in Jaipur will see the participation of numerous senior party officials, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who is also expected to address a special assembly of approximately 2,200 divisional presidents.

Dotasra indicated that a preparatory meeting is scheduled at the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters on April 24 to organize the event’s logistics.

The ‘Save Constitution’ campaign is designed to shed light on how the Central government is “eroding” democracy and constitutional principles, with plans to unfold in various phases, starting with state-level rallies on April 28.

“District-level rallies will be conducted across all districts from May 3 to 10, followed by Assembly-level events from May 11 to 17, and a Booth-level door-to-door campaign from May 20 to 30,” he explained.

During the door-to-door initiative, Congress volunteers will interact directly with citizens to elaborate on how the Central government is “diminishing” democratic institutions and misusing investigative bodies like the ED, CBI, and Income Tax to “muffle” the opposition.

Accusing the Central government of exhibiting an “authoritarian” stance, Dotasra remarked: “The central government is pursuing Hitlerism. It is even targeting the Supreme Court. Wherever elections occur, opposition leaders face intimidation from central agencies. There’s a systematic effort to incapacitate the opposition by severing their resources.”

He stressed that the ‘Save Constitution’ campaign represents more than mere politics; it is a movement to safeguard the nation's democratic essence.
