New Delhi, May 7 (NationPress) Following the Indian Army's accomplished execution of Operation Sindoor, a deliberate strike on terrorist infrastructure deep within Pakistan, prominent Congress leaders have expressed robust backing for the armed forces and praised the operation.
Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit shared his thoughts while anticipating official updates from military sources. “We’ve heard the Army will brief at 10 a.m. We’ll wait for more information on targets, objectives, and achievements,” Dikshit remarked.
“Preliminary reports indicate that 8-9 terrorist hideouts, including Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba headquarters, were targeted, potentially using missiles. If confirmed, it's commendable. I extend my congratulations to the Indian Army, Navy, and all involved for their efforts.”
Later, emphasizing the significance of strategic accuracy, Dikshit noted: “From what I’ve observed, it's clearly indicated that the attack was focused on terrorist hideouts, training camps, and operational bases. It was a precise strike, reminiscent of Balakot, where terrorists were located. No civilian areas were affected. Pakistan’s reaction will unfold over time. Nonetheless, the selected targets were precise and strategic.”
Congress’s Uttar Pradesh State President Ajay Rai also voiced unwavering support for the military action, underscoring the party’s consistent call for a firm stance against terrorism.
“Certainly, we advocated for the Rafale, brought in for the nation's defense, to take proactive measures, eliminate terrorists, and confront nations that harbor terrorism. That action has been executed, aligning with the desires of the entire nation,” Rai stated.
“When we met the families of the victims, they expressed their desire for immediate justice for their sons, husbands, and innocent citizens who lost their lives. We have consistently raised this demand. For this reason, I highlighted this issue, and I want to commend the bravery of our armed forces,” he continued.
The Indian government confirmed that all nine targets were successfully hit during Tuesday night’s operation, which was a response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including one Nepali national.
Importantly, the government stressed that no civilian or military infrastructure was harmed, reaffirming India's intention to prevent escalation while holding the perpetrators accountable.
