Did Congress Just Delete a Controversial Post Targeting PM Modi?

New Delhi, April 29 (NationPress) Facing backlash from the BJP regarding a social media post aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress party has finally decided to remove the contentious post on Tuesday.

The post featured an old image of PM Modi with his face obscured, accompanied by the caption, "In times of need, missing," which appeared to mock his absence from the all-party meeting convened to discuss the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death of 26 tourists.

Initially shared on Monday night, the post left the BJP in a state of embarrassment, particularly after it was re-shared by Pakistan's former minister, Fawad Chaudhry.

In response, the BJP retaliated with a post labeling Congress as "backstabbers," seemingly directed at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, featuring the phrase "Pakistan ka yaar (Friend of Pakistan)."

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari asserted that the Congress deleted the "Gayab" post "under pressure" from Indian citizens. He remarked, "Under pressure from the people of India, the Congress party has removed its 'Sar Tan Se Juda' imagery tweet! This will not conceal the anti-national and pro-Pakistan character of Congress!"

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister returned from an overseas trip following the Pahalgam attack and has been conducting essential meetings with the Cabinet Committee for Security, including one held this evening. Nevertheless, his absence at the all-party gathering has frustrated Congress, who has been vocal about it since.

The BJP has continuously accused Congress of engaging in appeasement politics, alleging that they are lenient towards Pakistan to maintain their influence over the Indian Muslim vote. After some Congress leaders made controversial remarks regarding India's diplomatic strategies against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty, the BJP labeled the party as a "friend of Pakistan."

In light of the former Pakistani minister's post, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia contended that Congress is attempting to undermine PM Modi and send signals to Pakistan. He raised questions about whether Rahul Gandhi was "betraying" India for accolades from Pakistan, pointing to the derogatory comments made about PM Modi by the Pakistani leader.

In response to the contentious post, BJP’s National Information and Technology Department head, Amit Malviya, stated, "The Congress leaves little doubt with its use of 'Sar Tan Se Juda' imagery. This is not simply a political statement; it serves as a dog whistle aimed at its Muslim vote bank and subtly incites action against the Prime Minister. This is not the first instance of Congress resorting to such tactics."

Malviya went on to accuse Rahul Gandhi of inciting violence against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
