Lucknow, June 15 (NationPress) While distributing appointment letters to 60,244 constables of the Uttar Pradesh Police, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Sunday that corruption during recruitment processes has now become a relic of the past since 2017. He highlighted his administration's commitment to fostering a riot-free and secure environment in the state.
“Before 2017, recruitments were influenced by favoritism and recommendations. However, our government has changed that narrative by appointing these 60,244 constables based on merit while ensuring full adherence to reservation policies,” he mentioned.
Emphasizing the positive perception shift initiated by the BJP’s double engine government in UP, CM Adityanath expressed that his administration has actively embraced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of effective and inclusive governance.
“Through the elimination of riots, the double engine government has transformed public perception and positioned UP as a key hub for tourism and investment,” he remarked.
This transformation has been made feasible through the BJP's unwavering dedication to social welfare, good governance, and security, with Adityanath noting that since 2017, 8.5 lakh appointments have been made transparently.
The recent recruitment drive for 60,244 constables also includes 12,048 women.
Highlighting the government's commitment to adhering to PM Modi's concept of smart policing, CM Adityanath stated, “We aim to modernize UP Police, making it alert, dependable, and technologically advanced,” while also ensuring that new recruits receive training in soft skills.
He pointed out that the recruitment of 60,244 constables is taking place during ‘Amrit Kal’ and marks 11 years of effective governance under PM Modi.
Additionally, CM Adityanath showcased the measures taken to enhance policing in the state, including the establishment of a cyber hub in each district and cyber help desks at every police station. Furthermore, eight new forensic labs have been built, with six more currently under construction.
For this recruitment cycle, the state police received a staggering 48.17 lakh applications, with 15.49 lakh coming from women. The Agra district saw the highest number of appointments, totaling 2,349.
