New Delhi, July 21 (NationPress) Amidst the uproar in the Lok Sabha where Opposition members engaged in sloganeering and crowded the well of the House, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal criticized the Congress party for allegedly using disruption as a tactic to influence parliamentary proceedings.

“The Congress has turned chaos during sessions into a habitual practice. Rahul Gandhi himself is rarely present during the sessions,” Pal asserted, defending the Prime Minister’s commitment to parliamentary duties.

These comments arise as the Opposition INDIA bloc demands direct answers from the Prime Minister on multiple issues, including Operation Sindoor, the revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, and concerns regarding Jammu and Kashmir.

In an interview with IANS, Pal stressed that the Prime Minister has continuously met his obligations, intervening only when necessary.

“The Prime Minister has been consistently responsive and is today once again appealing for the Parliament to function smoothly. If a question pertains to the Home Ministry, the Home Minister will respond; if it’s about Parliamentary Affairs, the relevant minister will answer. The Prime Minister speaks when needed, such as during the President’s address,” he stated.

Regarding the Opposition’s focus on Jammu and Kashmir, Pal pointed out the significant changes the region has experienced since the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.

“Today’s inquiry about Jammu and Kashmir highlights the global perception of the situation under Articles 370 and 35A. Incidents of terrorism have significantly decreased. Previously common stone-pelting has nearly disappeared, and the number of tourists is on the rise. Considerable advancements in peace and development have been made in Jammu and Kashmir. Elections are occurring on schedule, and the government is taking prompt action,” he added.

The BJP has reiterated its commitment to transparency and open discussions in Parliament while accusing the Opposition of hindering debates for political gain.

As the Monsoon Session progresses with 21 sittings planned, the atmosphere remains tense as the government seeks to advance crucial legislative business while the Opposition persists in demanding accountability from the leadership.

Point of View

The ongoing political dynamics in the Lok Sabha reflect a deepening divide between the ruling party and the opposition. While the BJP emphasizes a need for order and transparency, the Congress party's confrontational tactics highlight the contentious nature of current political discourse. It is crucial for both sides to navigate this landscape with a focus on constructive dialogue rather than chaos, ensuring that parliamentary proceedings serve the interests of the nation.
