New Delhi, July 21 (NationPress) Deepak Bagla has officially taken on the role of Mission Director for the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), as announced by NITI Aayog on Monday.
According to NITI Aayog, “Bagla comes to AIM equipped with a wealth of experience in banking, investment promotion, policy advisory, and institutional leadership.”
“His diverse background includes significant engagements with multilateral institutions, the private sector, and various government bodies, providing him a unique combination of strategic vision and operational capability,” the statement further elaborated.
Prior to this role, Bagla was the Managing Director and CEO of Invest India, the national agency focused on investment promotion and facilitation.
During his tenure, Invest India garnered numerous international awards and became a pivotal entity in fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup development throughout the nation.
Bagla has also been part of several high-profile government committees and has represented India at various international platforms, including his position as President of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).
He earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and holds Master’s degrees in International Diplomacy and International Trade and Finance from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.
“Joining the Atal Innovation Mission at this significant juncture is an honor. As AIM embarks on a new chapter with an expanded mandate, there is a tremendous chance to enhance India’s innovation ecosystem,” Bagla remarked.
