Jaipur, Oct 2 (NationPress) The father of a 20-year-old NEET aspirant from Delhi, whose lifeless body was discovered hanging in his paying guest (PG) accommodation in Kota, has raised accusations of foul play surrounding his son's demise.
The individual, known as Lucky Chaudhary, was found suspended from a ceiling fan in his room located in the Vigyan Nagar area on Wednesday. His unexpected passing has plunged his family into grief, with his father firmly stating that Lucky was not inclined to take his own life.
On Thursday, Dilip Chaudhary, Lucky’s father, was visibly distraught while addressing the media after retrieving his son’s remains.
“I sent him to Kota two years ago for NEET preparation. Initially, he resided in a hostel but later moved to a PG. He was my only son… and always reassured me, ‘Papa, I am strong enough to never consider suicide,’” he recounted.
The family claims Lucky had recently been under financial strain. Just a week prior to his death, he confided in his sister about borrowing Rs 40,000 from a friend. He had sent Rs 10,000 to her account and assured her he would settle the remaining debt shortly. To raise further concerns, Lucky’s mobile phone, wallet, and bag were reported missing from his room.
Authorities confirmed that a young man named Rahul, residing in a neighboring PG room, has been unaccounted for since the incident. He had not been attending his coaching classes and was absent from the PG following the tragedy.
Neighbors informed Dilip that Lucky and Rahul had a fierce argument just a few days before the incident.
“Rahul had a drinking habit and a girlfriend studying here. He frequently clashed with my son. He must have been troubling him,” Dilip alleged.
Vigyan Nagar police station’s in-charge, Mukesh Meena, stated that Lucky had not enrolled in a coaching institution for the current year, opting instead to study independently.
“The family contends that he was not the type to take such drastic measures. A case has been filed, and we are exploring all possibilities,” he remarked.
Police retrieved NEET study materials, cigarettes, and an alcohol bottle from the room. Following a post-mortem at MBS Hospital, the body was returned to the family. Investigations were ongoing at the time of this report.
