New Delhi, Oct 3 (NationPress) The President of Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, expressed strong criticism towards the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for what he deemed misleading statements from the party’s Delhi unit leader, Saurabh Bharadwaj, about a supposed initiative to privatize healthcare services in Delhi.
Sachdeva labeled Bharadwaj’s allegations concerning mismanagement in government hospitals and privatization efforts as untruths, stating that such claims are regrettable.
He emphasized that before disseminating misinformation about the operations of Delhi’s hospitals, Saurabh Bharadwaj should remember that during his own term as Health Minister, the sector witnessed various scandals.
Sachdeva pointed to alleged misconduct during the AAP's governance, including procurement scams in government hospitals, fraudulent multiple patient registrations and tests in Mohalla Clinics under a single mobile number, and the circulation of counterfeit medicines.
The Delhi BJP President remarked that prior to accusing the BJP of intending to privatize healthcare services, Bharadwaj should clarify whether it is not a fact that under the Arvind Kejriwal administration, essential services such as pathology tests, X-rays, and MRIs in government hospitals were discontinued and assigned to private organizations, resulting in substantial kickbacks.
He also mentioned that the citizens of Delhi are aware of an ongoing investigation into the hospital construction scandal associated with Bharadwaj and his AAP government.
Sachdeva alleged that Dr. R.N. Das, Bharadwaj’s secretary, was linked to an unlicensed private hospital where a devastating fire resulted in the deaths of seven newborns—yet the former AAP Minister failed to take any action.
Earlier that day, the Delhi BJP commemorated the legacy of Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra, the former President of Delhi Jan Sangh and BJP, as well as the former Chief Executive Councillor of Delhi.
The remembrance meeting was conducted at the Civic Centre under the leadership of the Delhi BJP President, with numerous BJP leaders and workers paying their respects through floral tributes. Notable speakers included Union Minister Manohar Lal, RSS Delhi Prant Pracharak Anil Agarwal, BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta who addressed the assembly.
