New Delhi, Nov 17 (NationPress) The Patiala House Court has ordered a 10-day custody for Aamir Rashid Ali, a resident of Kashmir, who is implicated in conspiracy with Dr Umar Muhammad Nabi, the individual responsible for the November 10 terror attack near the Red Fort.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) requested the court for Ali's custody, which was granted.
On November 16, the NIA apprehended Ali, who is linked to the vehicle used in the attack. His arrest occurred during a comprehensive search operation in Delhi initiated after the case was handed over from the Delhi Police, an official reported.
As per the NIA's findings, Ali, residing in Samboora, Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir, allegedly collaborated with the suicide bomber, Umar Nabi, to orchestrate the attack. The agency noted that Ali traveled to Delhi to aid in procuring the car, which was later utilized as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) to execute the blast.
The NIA has established, through forensic analysis, that the deceased driver of the vehicle-based IED was Dr Umar Nabi, hailing from Pulwama district and serving as an Assistant Professor in the General Medicine Department at Al Falah University in Faridabad.
Additionally, the agency has confiscated another vehicle belonging to Dr Nabi, which is currently under examination for further evidence. Up to this point, the NIA has interviewed 73 witnesses, including individuals injured during the November 10 blast that shook the capital city.
In collaboration with various law enforcement agencies including Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other central organizations, the NIA is actively pursuing multiple leads to uncover the broader conspiracy behind this bombing and to identify all individuals connected to case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.
Previously, on November 15, the Delhi Police Crime Branch escalated its investigation into Al Falah University as part of the ongoing inquiry into the November 10 Delhi bomb blast and submitted two FIRs against the institution.
